TruXedo TruXport Roll-Up Tonneau Cover

The Truxedo Truxport truck bed is a low profile tonneau cover that is economically priced for the budget-minded drivers. This a tough and durable cover that will look good on any truck it is fitted on. Installing the Truxedo Truxport tonneau cover is quite easy and no drill clamps are needed, the whole process will actually take you 30 minutes or less. The cover sits flat slightly above the side rails for an aerodynamic design that improves gas mileage by up to 10%. Below is a step-by-step process for how to install this on your truck.

Mount the Side Rails

The first thing to do is install the two side rails provided, start with the driver-side side rails. Before installing the side rails, start by mounting the weather seals provided on the part of the side rail that goes near the cab. Place the side rails on the top of truck box and use the clamps provided to hold them down. There are three clamps for each side rail, one for the front, one for the middle and the last one for the back part of the side rail. Do not over tighten the clamps just yet.

Make sure the side rails are in alignment with the truck bed, run your fingers through the side rail all the way back to the tailgate to be sure. When happy with the alignment, tighten down the clamps. Start with the front clamps just to make sure the alignment is not distorted.

Install the Tonneau Cover

With the side rails in place, place the main tonneau cover on the front of the truck bed. Undo the hook and loop straps to make it easier for you to attach them to the side rails. Centre the tonneau cover on the truck bed and attach them to the side rails. Insert the tab at the front of the side rail into the slot of the cover assembly. With the cover fully installed, it is now time to roll it down. When rolling down the cover, make sure the hoop and loop straps line up correctly.

As you are rolling down the cover, ensure the bars underneath the cover are not directly above the clamps. If this happens to you, you will need to reposition the clamps. Before you fully unroll the cover, install the weather seals at the back part. With the seals attached, make sure the rail on the backside of the cover goes into the groove on the side rail. With that done, close the tailgate and you are ready to hit the road.
