Superchips TrailDash Adds More Power and Functionality to Your Jeep
The Jeep Wrangler is no doubt a very tough four-wheeler but its performance can still be taken higher thanks to the aftermarket accessories available. Superchips is a Florida based company that has made a name for itself and is considered a leader in the automotive tuning industry. The TrailDash is one of its popular products that comes with a USB cable for software updates, OBDII connector cable and a windshield mount.

Superchips TrailDash Is Specific For the Jeep Wrangler

The TrailDash is specifically made for the hardcore Jeep enthusiasts and is currently Available For the 2003 to 2007 TJs and 2007 to 2014 JKs. According to the manufacturer, the TrailDash can lead to gains in the upwards of 30 pound-feet of torque and 30 horsepower. This device allows the driver to reach multiple performance levels such as those intended for the 87, 91, and 93 Octane grade fuel. The device has the Mileage XS feature that helps conserve fuel and is designed to reduce the responsiveness of the pedal for off road conditions.

The TrailDash has three main screens that include the main gauge which is the default, Off-Road feature screen and a Stand-Alone Feature screen. The TrailDash shows you all the relevant information through its 4.3-inch colour touch-screen interface. Regarding the Screen, Joe Dussol, Marketing Director, Superchips says, “Our simple to understand interface is the key to making the TrailDash so easy to use and set up.”

Installation of the TrailDash

The Superchips TrailDash is not that difficult to install if you follow the installation manual included in every package. The first thing to do is locate the OBDII port and connect the OBDII cable. Route the cable through the driver’s side of the dash panel and through the upper part of the dash to where the Superchips Dash Pod is located. The dash pod is designed by Superchips and will fit on all Jeep models that can be fitted with the TrailDash.

After you are done with the installation, the next step will be to begin initializing the TrailDash and starting the vehicle. The TrailDash will save the Jeeps initial setting for future reference and it’s from this point that you can continue with the set up. It’s at this point that you programme the TrailDash to the performance levels you want.
