A Tire for all Seasons: ITP Tires

With the right tires ATVs can go
anywhere in any weather conditions

One of the best-loved features of the ATV is its go-anywhere, in-any-weather, never-give-up attitude. Nothing else is quite so at home on snow, mud, sand or gravel in spring, summer, fall or winter. Whatever the weather and the terrain you can bet an ATV will be up for it.

Because an ATV can be used in so many varied conditions the manufacturers slap all-purpose tires on them when they roll out the factory, and although those stock tires will be adequate, you’ll never get the most out of an ATV using them.

New Tires – The First Upgrade for any ATV

The Black Water Evolution is the latest
version of ITP’s most popular mud tire

Any ATV pro will tell you the first upgrade you should get for an ATV is a couple of sets of specialty tires. Don’t splash out on winches or body accessories, they’ll not get you anywhere, but a set of tires to suit the terrain you drive on and the weather you encounter will double the traction and efficiency of an ATV and triple the fun of riding it.

Desert sand, gravel trails and wet muddy landscapes require very different types of tire, as the experts at ITP have known for almost 30 years. It was ITP who began the ATV tire revolution by introducing the world’s first-ever tire purpose-made to tackle deep mud in 1989. Since then ITP has established itself as one of the best manufacturers of ATV/UTV tires and wheels.

Building on a Good Idea

That pioneering tire, the Black Water, is still being produced by ITP today and it has become one of the most popular ATV/UTV tires of all time. Following the success of the Black Water ITP began designing tires for sand, grass and gravel trails, each of which were extensively tested in the real world before finally going into full production. Today ITP offers one of the largest ranges of ATV/UTV tires on the market.

Change Tires with the Seasons

With the right set of ITP tires all
this can be yours

Just like you should change your ATV’s tires for different terrains, you’ll do yourself a favor if you switch them as the seasons change too. The spring rains turn trains into mud tracks so the ITP Black Water comes into its element, but during the summer you might be better running on gravel or sand tires (ITP Holeshot and ITP Dune Star respectively) for dry or arid conditions. Also think about what you’ll be using your ATV/UTV for when fitting tires: If you’re going to be hauling stuff around your yard in fall or plowing snow in winter you might want a set of ITP Turf Tamer grass tires that won’t chew up your lawn. The right tires for the conditions play a big role in how effective your ATV can be.

If you really want to get the maximum performance, the maximum work capacity and the maximum enjoyment from your ATV, a couple of different sets of ITP tires in the garage will give you year-round adaptability for all surfaces and weather conditions.
