Where a body lift is intended to gain an all-around even lift of a truck, a leveling kit provides additional lift specifically to either the front or the rear. For instance, a truck with a heavy duty winch and front bumper mount is much heavier and may dip at the front. That imbalance can adversely affect handling or tire and suspension wear.
