Kenda Tires Technical Information
About Kenda Tires
Kenda Tire Company manufactures a variety of tires for SUVs, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles, ATVs, industrial vehicles, garden vehicles, wheelchairs, cars, garden and lawn vehicles and snow blowers. All these tires adhere to high performance standards across various categories of applications and interest. The tires are produced with round and square shoulders combined with a variety of tread designs.
Front/rear Kenda Tire Matching
When selecting the
Kenda tire
for your atv, it is important to ensure that they meet all the requirements of the atv, match up with your rims/wheels, your intended use and have proper load carrying capacity and proper speed rating.
Tires that are designated as front wheel fitment must be mounted in the front position only and the same should apply to the rear wheels. It is important to note that mixing used and new rear and front Kenda tires and vice versa can result into unpredictable handling and instability. Likewise, mixing the non-radials and radials can result into the same. To ensure safety do not mix the aforementioned according to the Kenda recommendations.
Load Carrying Capacities
It is important to ensure that your Kenda tire has sufficient load carrying capacity for your vehicle as well as added weight. In calculating the load capacity, take into account the weight of any gear or extra luggage, the motorcycles weight and whether the motorcycle is used to carry passengers. Proper tire inflation is also important while doing the calculation.
Tire Pressures & Tire Inspection
Before a ride, check your tires for possible damage or wear. Inspection is the most significant step in maintaining the tire. Additionally, higher tire pressure is needed particularly when you put heavier loads or carry extra passengers in your motorcycle. Ensure that you do not exceed the maximum load indicated on the Kenda tire manual.
Tire Repair and Modification
Kenda does not recommend mending, repairing or modification of the tires. Furthermore, Kenda does not allow using liquid sealants as a device for repairing the tires. Instead of being repaired and modified, they should be replaced with comparable new tires. It is also important to balance the tire and wheels prior to use. This is because wheel assemblies and unbalanced can result into tire failure. Therefore, cracked or bent wheels need to be replaced immediately. You should also contact Kenda tire dealer to make sure that proper tire installation as well as wheel balancing.
