Jeremy McGrath of Fuel Wheels

Recently, Jeremy McGrath partnered with Fuel Wheels to help with his quest for the 2014 title in the Lucas Oil Off Road series. McGrath was spoiled for choice with the huge number of wheels under the Fuel brand but he settled for the Fuel D557 Anza Wheels. McGrath has been relying on these wheels to stay on course through the rough terrains of the Lucas Oil off Road series.

McGrath has been having a good year so far but he still has not had a podium finish. This is not normal for the 7-time AMA Supercross champion.

Lucas Oil Off Road Series Round 10

Round 10 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Series was held in Glen Helen. The Pro 2 Unlimited that McGrath participated in was held in the evening under the rain. McGrath had finished 4th in round 9 the previous night and had managed a 4th place finish during the qualifying round. As the race started, McGrath quickly moved to the pole position leading until the 6th lap when Bryce Menzies passed him.

In his #2 Loctite/Fuel Off-Road Chevrolet tried to stay on Menzies tail but he kept pulling away. The other drivers in the top 5 category included Marty Hart, Rob MacCachren and Brian Deegan. McGrath held his position even as drama was unfolding behind him on lap seven. This lap saw Hart pull off resulting in a full course caution. The misfortune saw MacCachren move up to the third spot, Deegan to fourth and a new entrant, RJ Anderson, to fifth.

As they restarted, Deegan made his move past MacCachren for the third place. At this time, the first and second positions were still held by Menzies and McGrath respectively. The running order was not disturbed for most part of the race until Patrick Clark in his #25 Loan Mart/Maxxis Chevrolet passed Anderson for the fifth place spot.

The fourth and fifth spots were held by MacCachren in the #21 Rockstar Energy Drink/Makita Power Tools Ford and Clark in the #25 Loan Mart/Maxxis Chevrolet respectively.

The second place finish for McGrath was his best so far this year having missed from the podium since the 2014 series started. This win pushed McGrath to the sixth spot in the overall standings with a total of 464 points.
