Race Day at the Evergreen Speedway

Round 5 of the 2014 season of the Formula Drift series was held at the Evergreen speedway on July 18 and 19. The weather was perfect all weekend long, and the spectators came out in huge numbers. Forsberg was in his Hankook Tire/CFR Nissan 370Z and had a good run throughout the event managing a third place finish by Sunday from the Top 32 slot where he finished on Saturday. His teammate, Fredric Aasbo, also had a good weekend and finished at position four.

The third place finish at the Evergreen Speedway puts Forsberg ahead in the 2014 Formula Drift Professional Championship standings ahead of his teammate Aasbo. Forsberg was content with the results saying that the Hankook Ventus R-S2 tires have helped him this year to scoop the five consecutive podium finishes. He added, “These are without a doubt the best and most consistent tires on the market.”

The third place finish by Forsberg and the fourth place finish by Aasbo have helped Hankook Tire stay in the lead this season in the tire manufacturer’s category. 2014 has proven to be a very successful year for both these drivers as they did not have a successful run last year.

All Hankook tires sponsored racers in the Formula Drift series race use these same extreme performance tires. These tires are built for the serious sports coupe, performance sedan and sports car enthusiasts who want the same race like traction on the streets.

The next event in the Formula Drift series will be held in Texas at the Motor Speedway on September 12th and 13th.
