Motorcycle Luggage Which One is Right
If you are looking for motorcycle luggage to carry your items during road trips, you may have found the whole process overwhelming due to the huge number of such products on the market. In this article, we have broken down the whole process to help you choose the right luggage quickly and easily. Below are some five tips to adhere to filter down your search list and get the right
Motorcycle luggage
for your situation.
Luggage Capacity
The first thing to look at is the luggage capacity that is adequate for you. This will of course depend on you as a person and the kind of adventures you regularly go on. If you take long road trips occasionally, luggage with more storage space will be necessary. You will also need to know the kind of cargo and equipment you regularly carry when you are looking at luggage capacity.
There are small, medium, large and extra large sizes offered by the different manufacturers. While you are still at it, make sure the size you end up choosing can fit perfectly on your bike. This is especially so if you are considering getting the extra large luggage.
What Is Your Style?
Just like any other Motorcycle accessory, your personal style and preferences will also come into play when selecting a motorcycle luggage. The style you choose will reflect your personality so be sure to choose what you really like. Under style, we have the plain vs. Studded and buckles vs. no buckles. The plain luggage is perfect for those who want a low profile look that does not attract attention all the time. Studded luggage on the other hand is for those who want to make a statement every time they show up.
There are also luggage options that have buckles while others do not. Choose the one that you are comfortable with depending on the details and style on your bike.
Mounting Mechanism
Motorcycle luggage is all designed for different circumstances and applications. This is why they all come with different mounting mechanisms. There are three main mechanisms that include the throw-over, hard mount and quick disconnect. The throw-overs are the easiest to mount and remove without using any tools. Hard mount luggage on the other hand require you to use some tools and in some cases you will need to have some special skills. Quick disconnect luggage also require the use of tools but they can be removed from the bike easily when you need to carry them around.
Security Features
Since you will be carrying your items on them, the luggage has to have some security features. When it comes to locking, we have the padlock or the keylock types. Both these offer the same level of protection so you will have to choose the one you are most comfortable with.
