American Racing Wheels Partners Up

In 2012, American Racing Wheels partnered up with KV Racing Technology (KVRT) for the upcoming IndyCar Series Seasons. At the time, KV Racing was a regular contender on the IndyCar circuit, but they felt that they needed a little something extra to push them over the top. They saw American Racing Custom Wheels as the answer. KVRT co-owner, Jimmy Vasser, said of the move:

“We are very excited to announce that American Racing Customs Wheels has joined KV Racing Technology. American Racing has a long history in motorsports and in automotive aftermarket products. We look forward to having a successful season with American Racing supporting both E.J. [Viso] and Tony [Kanaan] during the upcoming season.”

The partnership between American Racing Wheels and KVRT turned to out to be one of historic proportions. Within one year of their coming together, KVRT racer Tony Kanaan won the IndyCar’s most prestigious race, The Indy 500.

americanracingAmerican Racing Wheels is now a contributor to the winning team of one of America’s biggest races, the Indy 500.
The 2013 Indy 500, which took place on May 26th, was a star studded event that featured household names like: Helio Castroneves, Dario Franchitti, and AJ Hoyt. With such stiff competition, the win didn’t come easy for Kanaan. In fact, he didn’t even takeover as the leader of the race until the final 3 laps. According to Kanaan, his win was a long time in the making. “I was known for not winning and now I am known for winning. The last lap was the longest lap of my life,” said Kanaan. The 2013 Indy 500 was Kanaan’s 12th attempt at the race, but it was his first with American Wheels. And undoubtedly, American Racing Wheels involvement with the victory was not coincidental.

What’s So Great about American Racing Wheels?

American Racing Wheels came into fruition during the golden age of hot rodding in the mid-1950s. Since that time, they have continued to develop as an industry front runner, especially when it comes to muscle cars. Most of the America Racing Wheels are made by low-pressure casting, but they have expanded and now create forged wheels as well. Their wheels include 2-piece and 3-piece designs, but they prefer to stay true to their classic past. The majority of their wheels are made with a single clean, muscular piece that is reminiscent of their 1950s roots.

At 4 Wheel Online, we have dozens of different styles of American Racing Wheels that come in black, chrome, and combinations of the two. These wheels are specifically designed for high performance vehicles and are sure to satisfy any driver.
