Jeep Top Options for You

Jeep Top Options for You

One of the best features of your Wrangler Jeep is the ability to take the top off. The wind in your hair and the sun on your face, the experience are just so fascinating. There are different Jeep top options on the market today.

Soft Top Style- Give you the Best of Both Worlds

If you want a topless ride with a 100% waterproof protection, then the best option for you is a complete soft-top kit. This Jeep top comes in two styles, frameless and full frame. Both frameless and full frame complete soft tops have everything you require to switch easily to a soft top setup including tailgate bar, door surrounds, windows, soft top, tailgate bar and windshield channel in addition to other installation hardware.

Full Frame soft tops

Full frame soft top is almost similar to the factory soft top, however it has metal bows that further support the fabric top, rear windows, removable sides in addition to sunroof of certain models. Therefore, you can easily remove the top from the windshield and have a topless experience by flipping it back. The top’s fabric folds behind your Jeep’s rear seat while the bows easily lay flat along your cargo area sides. In case of rain, you can easily pull the top back and reattach.

Frameless Soft Top

Another available option for your Jeep is the frameless soft top. Just as the name implies, frameless soft top does not utilize metal bow system to support the top’s fabric but rather uses roll bars. Therefore, the top will follow your roll bars contours, which are located in the cargo area. Frameless soft top has removable rear and side windows. Furthermore, complete frameless soft top kit features door surrounds, that enable you to seal your Jeep’s top and at the same time keep water off your passenger area.

If you install windows, a frameless soft top is 100% waterproof. One of the disadvantages of this type of soft top is that it cannot fold all the way back as the full framed soft top. Some models come with a sunroof so that the top can easily roll or flip back over the passenger seats or front driver seat. For most frameless soft top owners having the rear windows and sunroof back removed creates sufficient open air ride.

However, at the end of it all, there is no wrong or right Jeep top set. The choice will come down to the weather protection you need, the level of comfort you desire and the features you value most.
