Warn ZEON Winch Series in a Class of their Own

Warn Industries has had a firm grip on the winch market for a long time. The ZEON series is a culmination of their engineering efforts towards creating even better winches. Comprised of three winches, the ZEON 8, ZEON 10 and ZEON 12, this series takes winching to a whole new level. There are several reasons why the ZEON line has been termed a ‘design masterpiece’. Let us examine some of the features that set Warn’s new line a cut above the rest:

IP86 Certification

The Zeon Series is among the first winch models to receive this highly acclaimed certification, having been tested rigorously under the harshest conditions for leakages. This is because of the double lip seals on the drum which is made from a one piece cast iron.

Capacity

Warn’s reputation in recovery is based on its winches’ extreme capacity levels. The ZEON 8, 10 and 12 winches have a towing capacity of 8000, 10000 and 12000 pounds. To add to this, the ZEON 8 and ZEON 10 have the option of Warn’s synthetic Spydura rope, which is weather resistant, accompanied by aluminum hawse fair lead. All three winches also come in a steel rope option with a roller fair lead.

Planetary Geartrain

Warn has also revamped their gear train design, increasing the number of carrier pins. This three stage planetary gear train also has plates that are thicker and a wider gear face. This has greatly increased the line speed and resulted in a quieter geartrain.

Convertible Control Pack

The Zeon winches come with a convertible control pack which can be mounted separately using the control pack relocation kit. This greatly increases flexibility as it means the winch can be installed in tighter spaces and can also be mounted in a more convenient or low profile position. Rather than the conventional motor wires, this control pack uses buss wires for smoother power flow

Streamlined Design

The ZEON series has a trendy streamlined new design. With a bigger aluminum drum and stainless steel hardware, this winch comes with a sleek satin black powder coat finish ensuring protection against corrosion. The housing is also well constructed with no wires sticking out. Symmetry is a key element of this design. The lighter but larger drum is said to reduce rope wear and tear and increase overall efficiency.

Ergonomic Motor

The motor design has also changed, with the terminals being arranged in series making it easier to connect. The aluminum housing of the motor also allows it to cool down faster as it dissipates heat easily while ensuring it stays waterproof at all times.

All these new features ensure that the Warn ZEON winch series not only surpasses other brands but provides superior power and reliability in all recovery operations. These winches are designed to look good, last long and provide a reassuring towing partner on the trail.
