Ultra Wheels Wins Best New Wheel Award at SEMA 2013

Originally established in 1963, SEMA has grown to be the biggest aftermarket auto show in the world. Annually, thousands of companies congregate in Las Vegas to showcase their products and make new connections and partnerships within the industry. On top of that, everybody is chasing an opportunity to prove that they are the best, and there is no better way to do this than taking home an award.

At each SEMA Show, over 2,500 products are entered into the New Products category of the SEMA competition. According to the official SEMA website, “The New Product Showcase Awards spotlight innovative and cutting-edge specialty-equipment products either on the market or about to be introduced. The awards are presented in 16 categories, with the judging criteria encompassing quality and craftsmanship, technical achievement, marketability and consumer appeal.”

Winning a New Product Showcase Award from SEMA is one of the highest honors any company can receive in the aftermarket world. That’s because winning this award proves that a company is at the cutting edge of innovation. SEMA president, Chris Kersting says, “The SEMA Award helps guide consumers toward the hottest-trending and most accessory-friendly vehicles [and aftermarket products] on the market. Our SEMA Show exhibitors are industry visionaries who determine the winners of the SEMA Award.”

Winning an award helps to catapult a company’s new product into the national consciousness and helps bring customers the very best products on the market. The prestige of this award is undeniable, which is why all of the top companies battle it out on the big stage (you have to love good old fashioned American competition!). But even though there are around 2,500 entries yearly, only a few walk away with a prize.

At the 2013 SEMA Show, one of the big winners was Ultra Wheels. Ultra Wheels walked away with the highly coveted Best New Wheel Award because of their new wheel: the WORX Tritan (due out late 2013). The WORX Tritan is available in 17”, 18”, and 20”with a wide range of offsets that are designed to fit any truck or SUV on the road. Ultra Wheels combination of strength, endurance, and craftsmanship set the wheel apart from the rest of the combination, making it an easy choice for the judges.

Ultra Wheels win at SEMA may have made them the hottest company going right now, but they’ve been banging out strength and performance based products for 26 years.
