How Hines Came Away Victorious

On a surprisingly hot and humid day in Englishtown, New Jersey, all of the racers were doing their best to adapt their bikes to the elements, hoping for a top notch performance. Hines and his team somehow managed to find the proper equilibrium, helping them pull of a champion level performance.

Hines says, “We had some cool air and the highest barometric pressure we’ve recorded in ten years this weekend. That’s Mother Nature giving us horsepower because these V-Rod engines really responded. It was great to take advantage of the weather, because we don’t always run so well when it gets hot.”

Hines, of course, was only one part of a long list of Harley riders that dominated the event. Alongside Hines in the finals was rider and fellow Harley representative Ed Krawiec. Krawiec qualified after a historic Saturday, setting a Pro Stock Motorcycle track record with an Elapsed Time of 6.747 seconds. That day, Hines finished third with a 6.778 second time.

These performances set up a battle of the titans in the final showdown. In the finals, it was Hines who got off to the good start, leaving the line .002 seconds ahead of Krawiec. Krawiec, however, stormed back and took the lead at 60 feet before getting passed by Hines once again. The final times for both riders were: Hines- ET of 6.828 seconds; Krawiec- ET of 6.837 seconds.

After the race, Krawiec said, “Nobody really loses when you race your teammate. I was thinking about 2012 and hoping for another win in front of my hometown crowd here at Englishtown, but I got just a little crossed up and had to correct my bike and that was probably the difference in the race. We have got a couple of very fast V-Rod motorcycles right now.”

The Power of Vance and Hines

This race marked the 4th of 16 Pro Event races so far this season. Currently, Hines leads all racers 402 points while teammate Krawiec is second at 382 points. Nobody, however, is surprised by the duo’s place in the standings. Hines is a three time Pro Stock Motorcycle champion, and both riders are equipped with the world’s premier equipment, led of course by Vance and Hines exhausts.

For years, Vance and Hines has been setting the pace for what is expected from motorcycle exhausts. They are especially revered for their powerful and distinctive sounding V-twin exhausts, a masterpiece of motorcycle technology that is also Available For the general public.
