The Shorai Company was founded in 2010. It is based in Sunnyvale, Calif and has quickly expanded to become the world’s major manufacturer of lithium iron phosphate and prismatic cell power sports batteries. The company is spearheading the market in the production of more efficient and higher performance lithium starter batteries.

Shorai focuses on production of batteries that are energy faster, with less wear and less weight than any other brand available on the market today. The company produces two dozen battery options, which are designed to fit the market needs for dirt, street, touring and even scooters, cruiser motorcycles, personal watercraft, ATVs, utility vehicles, and water lawnmowers.

Shorai Sponsors Rider Shawn Higbee

Racing the Brough Superior TMRGP2 bike, rider Shawn Higbee moved to the second place from the 5th position on a row start. TMRGP2 bike that is lightweight and manufacturing using a carbon fibre chassis and runs on 600cc Honda powerplant, showed an impressive cornering speed. However, it speed failed to match that of the heavily modified 1000cc F1 bike that raced on straight-line tracks. On the last lap of the race, rider Shawn Higbee found himself on the 4th position and hence finished fourth. In the B Superbike Race, rider Higbee held his grip and was able to lead the race.

According to the racer Shawn Higbee, "It was solid run for the TMRGP2 bike. I put my head down to explore the limits of the bike by pushing a little harder each lap." At the finish line, rider Higbee had managed a comfortable stretch and hence clinched the first win for the Brough Superior TMRGP2 bike.

“This is yet another great milestone toward the ultimate goal of competing in the World FIM Moto2 race events. It has taken years of development to get to this point but we are very close now!" commented the team owner Paul Taylor.

Shorai is in partnership with Yoshimura Racing’s 2014 AMA Superbike, Supercross and Outdoor National Motocross teams. The partnership between the Shorai and the Yoshiruma Racing is a perfect representation of high quality and two recognized brands that ar aware of what it takes to win a race. “Shorai’s LFX™ batteries have more than enough power to support the electrical requirements of our high-performance motorcycles which is exactly what we were looking for in a battery partner,” said Don Sakakura, President of Yoshimura Racing.

Throughout the 2014 racing, Shorai will provide their powerful and lightweight LFX™ lithium iron phosphate batteries to the Yoshimura’s Superbike AMA racing team. Shorai will also be the key sponsor Supercross and Outdoor National Motocross teams.
