Magnaflow Exhaust Joins Forces with Fast & Furious 6

In 2001, the original Fast & Furious film was released to drooling fans of both film and automotives. Over the years, the franchise has been kept alive by beautiful automobiles and premier aftermarket upgrades that help to deliver death defying stunts.

This past year Fast & Furious 6 was released and grossed over 238 million dollars, an unprecedented figure for a sixth re-installment. Its popularity can be contributed to the film makers anteing up on the auto budget.

The Very Best Cars

According to the Los Angeles Times, the final budget for the cars found in Fast & Furious 6 was well over ten million dollars! Much of this had to do with their dedication to showcasing the greatest cars, both classic and current. Some of these include:

  1. 1967 Chevrolet Camaro
  2. 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona
  3. 1970 Plymouth Barracuda
  4. 2006 Aston Martin Vanquish
  5. 2012 Lucra LC470
  6. Ferrari 360 Modena
These cars provided a smorgasbord of riches for all those gearheads out there. But, what was even more impressive was the film’s dedication to providing the very best stunt work. It’s estimated that over 200 hundred cars were destroyed during the filming process, including a ’69 Ford Mustang being run over by a tank and a 2008 BMW being thrown through a building. Now, that’s pretty crazy.

Magnaflow: The Very Best Exhaust System

In addition to all of the great cars, Fast & Furious 6 featured today’s premier aftermarket exhaust system: Magnaflow. The Magnaflow exhaust system helped to provide the movie with the extra the power and speed that was needed. It’s no surprise that Magnaflow found itself in Fast & Furious 6. For over 30 years, they’ve been building their company and delivering some of the best exhaust systems on the market. Their muffler designs have a “straight-through” construction that deliver a rich and smooth tone as well as maximum performance gains.

Vin Diesel Must Be Happy to Have Magnaflow

Like always, the top car and exhaust system went to Fast & Furious’ biggest star, Vin Diesel. His 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona featured a custom Magnaflow Exhaust System that weaved through the rear interior of the car and exited in a sleek port cut into the bodywork. It’s a good thing that Diesel had this exhaust system too because he had to perform some of the most dangerous stunts of his career.

One stunt stuck out to Diesel the most. He says of it, “I’m in my Dodge Daytona, and they said. ‘We want you to drive through this smoke. While I’m waiting, I’m seeing these guys pull over these huge tanks of gas and pouring them into those gas-explosion things. And I hear ‘action,’ and as I’m getting closer, I see flames coming out of these gas tanks. Once I get to the gas tanks, it’s like two giant fireballs were shot at my car.”

One thing’s for sure: making it through this scene would’ve been a lot more difficult if Vin didn’t have a top notch car and exhaust system.
