Kelly's Clean Tire Construction Approach

Neat, responsive and meticulously designed are some of the words to describe Kelly Tires. The 120 year old company started by Edwin Kelly has grown to be a loved brand that designs tires with the best materials. In fact the compound used on the first Kelly tires was so valuable it earned a patent.

Kelly Tires started out with a construction in which the tire was held on to the wheel by two longitudinal wires that were lodged inside the tire’s rubber to form a lesser circumference of its own. Now this effective structure has been used to make some of the most reliable tires for both consumer and industrial markets.

Charger GT Tires

The Charger GT tire has an interesting way of providing traction on wet driving surfaces. Instead of a uniform rib in the middle it has a uniform tread pattern that stretched in three segments along the tire and is separated by twin circumferential grooves all through. These grooves enhance the handling of the tire during cornering and slippery road conditions. They also help kill water flow over the tire surface to stabilize traction. The side of the tire you can see more of, which is the black side wall is serrated for an athletic sporty look.

Explorer Plus

As has been their custom, Kelly Tires makes sure each tire has very distinct features from the rest. This can be seen in the unique tread design of Kelly Explorer Plus tires. They have diagonal grooves that uniformly cut through into a diagonal mesh on the tire. This tread pattern gives enough blading capacity to not only sweep off water but light snow as well. The deep grooves serve to add traction to the wheel on snowy terrain hence making the Explorer plus a great choice for off road winter excursions.

Safari

While the Explorer Plus does a great job in the winter, The Kelly Safari tires are ideal for all off road driving seasons whether it’s a muddy terrain on a rainy day or a sandy outing in the savanna. This wheel series from Kelly tires comes in two versions. The Kelly Safari ATR has self cleaning grooves that shovel off mud and snow while the Kelly Safari STR has staggered shoulder blocks in addition to the self cleaning grooves to handle gravel as well as sand and mud.

Signature Tires

Kelly Signature tires carry the brand’s identity for neat, uniform, effective tread design. They have multiple sipes lining up the shoulders of the tire which provides ample speed capabilities while minimizing the noise coming from the center. They also work equally well on rugged terrain as they do on street due to the rare combination of rigged tread pattern at the center of the tire and a low noise profile made possible through its sipe design.
