The Unbeatable Profiles of Hankook’s SUV/Light Truck Tire Range

Hankook Tires has been and is still manufacturing some of the world’s most acclaimed tires. The company which is based in Seoul, Korea is ranked as the 7th biggest tire manufacturing company. Joining the top ten giants of the tire manufacturing industry did not simply come by luck, but through a series of careful advances in Hankook’s tire construction methods. These methods are applied in developing all parts of the tire including the tread area, shoulder, sidewalls, bead, carcass, belt and inner liners. The result has been the wide range of Hankook tires that cater for passenger cars, winter driving, SUV/Light trucks, Trucks, Buses and Racing vehicles. It’s as broad a variety as any tire manufacturer would want to have under its belt.

SUVs

Hankook’s SUV tires are served with features for ideal touring performance. There are three models that are currently supplied by the company: the Ventus ST, Ventus AS and Dynapro HP2. The Ventus series is an all season tire series meant to last all year round. It therefore has a few aggressive elements to help it beat the winter road such as a solid center line that maintains stability for linear motion thus preventing skidding. This is also useful during wet driving conditions. In addition to this Hankook’s SUV tires are fitted with circumferential grooves which allow water to escape the tire’s footprint easily. During dry and hot weather, you may prefer to speed up your drive and to allow this Hankook’s SUV tires are built with the ability to reduce noise courtesy of the pitch cancellation properties of these same circumferential grooves. With the thinly siped texture on the tires, you can be sure to avoid carrying along stones and rubble on the tire as you drive along.

Light trucks

For light trucks, Hankook Tires has four sub categories of tires. These include Highway tires, all terrain tires, mud terrain tires and trailer tires.

Highway Tires

The Highway tires include the Dynapro HT and Dynapro AS. Both of them have a multi-kerf and mid rib design. A mid rib design performs two essential functions on a highway tire. It allows the tire to convert higher speeds and to maintain linear motion while doing so. This is essential for avoiding the risk of accidents when on high gear.

All-Terrain Tires

For Hankook All-Terrain tires, expect the benefits of the tried and tested five-block tread arrangement. This arrangement is known to work magic on any terrain by optimizing traction across the fold. In addition to this, Hankook’s All Terrain models – the Dynapro AT and Dynapro ATM have interlocking solid shoulder ribs and circumferential grooves.

Mud Terrain

To overcome skids and sticky situations on mud trails, the Hankook Dynapro MT was developed. It has clearly offset lug that sulk in deeper than what you’ll find o the Dynapro AT series. With a wider tread to add to this, the grip created by the Dynapro MT is unbelievable. The sides of the tire are also protected by a side protection block that you won’t find on many mud trail tires in the market.

Trailer Series

Lastly, the Trailer series from Hankook’s SUV/Light truck collection is meant to combat rocky terrain and does an excellent job for construction haulage. The TH06 for instance has 4 wide angle grooves that prevent stone retention, and an asymmetrical lateral tread that will give perfect directional stability in the amorphous trail paths found on quarry sites and shrub lands.
