Borla Exhausts Are About Performance

Why Use Stainless Steel?

Automotive exhaust gases normally condense on the exhaust and this may damage the system internally. Combined with elements such as moisture, corrosive salts and mud, these gases can cause severe damage to the exhausts. This is why you need a strong and long-lasting exhaust system such as the Borla exhausts. These exhausts are built to withstand any destructive conditions to guarantee a long life and performance.

Borla exhausts are built with aircraft-grade stainless steel inside and out so they are not just ordinary exhausts wrapped with stainless steel on the outside just for show. Most of the other aftermarket exhausts on the market have mild steel, aluminium or are aluminium coated so are in essence not that strong and durable. These materials may be damaged if you have a high performance bike as the power produced is so big.

The steel used on these exhausts is the T300 series that is alloyed with Nickel and Chromium. This type of steel is resistant to corrosion when compared to the standard grade exhausts. Most other exhausts that are made using steel use the T409 series steel which is easily damaged by corrosive forces.
