scala rider Q2
Q. Is it okay to use this product in the rain?
A. While this product is water resistant, it is not waterproof. It should not be used in heavy rain or snowfall. In any event, the silicone cover protecting the charging jack should always be tightly closed when exposed to any rain or snowfall.
Q. Is the battery removable?
A. The battery is not removable and you should never try to open the headset. The Headset should be serviced by authorized personnel only.
Q. Is the Bluetooth Intercom waterproof?
A. Although there is no official IP rating for the bluetooth Intercom, the actual Bluetooth unit itself is rubberized and is sealed from water and dust ingress. The contacts between the headset assembly and the Bluetooth unit are spring loaded and as such there is no seal to be broken anytime the headset and Bluetooth unit is connected
Q. The other party complains that they can't hear me well.
A. Make sure that the microphone is positioned directly in front of your mouth with the yellow arrow facing your lips.
Q. What if I have trouble hearing the other party?
A. Try to increase volume by pressing the volume up button on the rear of the headset. You may also wish to try repositioning the speakers inside of your helmet.
Q. What is the bluetooth passkey?
A. The passkey, 0000, is a common industry standard passkey for headsets and other devices.
Q. While riding and using the scala rider Q2, the gain will shoot the volume up to it's max setting and it can't be manually lowered.
On the new revision this problem was solved and now the rider can change the volume when the AGC is up.
Q. Will other Bluetooth phones interfere with my Q2 headset? Can they eavesdrop?
A. No. Once you are paired, your identity is known only to the mobile phone you use and no other Bluetooth phone can hear your audio signals.
Q. The intercom connection is activating when I am not speaking. Why?
A. When using certain sports helmets, and while driving at speeds above 70 mph, the Intercom connection may be accidentally activated. If you prefer, to avoid this from happening you may disable the Voice Connect feature (VOX). To disable Voice Connect, press and hold the Volume Up and Down Buttons simultaneously until you hear a beep. NOTE: The Enable/Disable Voice Connect feature affects only the Intercom. You will still be able to answer calls by Voice if you disable the Voice Connect (VOX) feature. Once Voice Connect is disabled, you may use the MC button, single press or double press, to establish/end Intercom calls with your Primary or Secondary buddy, respectively.
Q. How can I improve audio quality?
A. There is a lot you can do to improve the audio of your SCALA RIDER.
Start by making sure you have placed both of your speakers inside your helmet so that both of them actually touch your ears.

Q. Bluetooth security
A. The way that Bluetooth works is that the device must broadcast its presence in order to be found. The headset does this only in pairing mode, which is why you can not find the headset with your phone or computer if it is not in pairing mode. Bluetooth connections for headsets are all encrypted to provide a secure link between the phone and headset. This provides Headset applications of Bluetooth technology with the highest security levels of any other application.
Q. Can't answer calls using the VR feature.
A. 1. Make sure the VR is enabled.
2. Make sure you utter the word loudly after hearing the ringing in the headset.
Q. How do I redial on the Q2?
A. While no call is in progress, tap the redial/reject to redial the last number.
Q. How do I tighten the mic clamp of the scala-rider on my helmet?
A. Included with the scala-rider is an Allen Wrench. It is used for tightening the sliding clamp to the helmet

A. When you hear an incoming call pronounce loudly any word of your choice within 7 seconds to answer the call.
Q. How to enable/disable the Voice Recognition feature.
A. Press and hold the volume up and volume down keys simultaneously for 3 seconds.
Q. How to reject calls using voice regognition.
