DG Performance exhaust systems feature stainless steel headpipes that will slip-fit to the mid-pipe. This allows the sub-frame room to flex and prevents the pipe from cracking and breaking. The mid-pipe then leads to the CNC machined end cap. The muffler body is anodized for a durable luster and protects against scratches and nicks. The muffler body houses a screen-type spark arrestor within the CNC machined 2-piece end cap. The spark arrestor comes standard and can be removed within minutes for racing applications. The CNC machined end cap is also anodized to a maintenance free finish.

During the 1980’s, when ATV’s started riding through the forest in higher numbers, there was a fright that a little puff of fire dodging an exhaust pipe would result in a forest fire.

For this reason, many states have manifested their advocacy for safe riding activities. The USFS (United States Forest Service) launched a campaign to oblige all ATV riders to include a spark arrestor in the muffler of ATVs. The basic legal requirement that is common today in using an ATV is the use of an USFS approved spark arrestor.

The spark arrestor is located at the end of the muffler assembly. It is designed to resist collection of ash or other combustible materials and also to remove the incandescent particles from a gas stream.
