It's easy today to hear the name Cobra Engineering and think cruiser accessories
and exhausts. But what many people may not know is the company began
making exhaust pipes for ATVs more than 25 years ago. In fact, you could
say the ATV parts were really the beginning of the company. And with
all Cobra’s changes, growth, expansion and otherwise typical business
challenges, its ATV business has remained an integral part of the company’s
product offering. Now for 2004, Cobra is launching an entirely new ATV
product line, one that co-founders Tim McCool and Ken Boyko believe
will transform the ATV aftermarket business in the same way their metric
cruiser products have changed the custom cruiser market.
The new products, as it turns
out, are exceptional, real-world, proof of concepts. From bumper to
grab rail, skid plates to A-Arm guards, every Cobra item aims to be
declared best in class. All are made in the U.S.A. from premium quality
aluminum alloys, with beautiful welds and durable finishes. All of the
metric mounting hardware is zinc-plated and Loctite-patched for reliability
and security, and this hardware matches OEM supplied materials. So,
too, do all the supplied flange bolts.
While the parts can be installed together, forming a unified system,
each product also stands on its own. Cobra’s new products fall
into the most popular categories: front bumpers, A-Arm guards, chassis
skid plates, swing-arm skid plate, linkage protectors, Nerf bars, grab
rails, and a fuel-cel guard.
