Things to do before you install a bed rug in your truck

1. Read the instructions carefully before the installation.

2. Note that the side rugs and floor are always shipped unzipped

3. Remove both the floor and the side rugs from the box

4. Zip the side rugs and the floor in order to make one-piece of soft bed liner

5. There is a very aggressive hook and loop fastening system that has been specifically designed to hold your bed liner in open bed trucks.

6. A continuous loop fastener is sewn around the bed rug liner. The tailgate and bulkhead feature two continuous strips of loop fastener that is sewn along bottom and top. Furthermore, the hook fasteners have a self-adhesive backing that easily sticks to the bed of the truck.

7. Then lay the bed rug soft bed liner in the truck’s bed to determine the exact fit and location.

It is important to note that some truck beds are equipped with load extenders, tie-don hooks as well as other functional equipment. These may be located on the sidewalls, bullhead or floor of the truck. For equipment such as this, as an installer you must either:

8. Remove the equipment until you have completed the installation and then reinstall the equipment once again on the top of the bed rug.

9. Alternatively, drill a small hole on the appropriate location of the bed rug to enable the equipment to protrude through the bed rug into the truck bed.

Important note: Never drill or cut through any sewn parts of the bed rug, as this will make the seams to fall apart.

10. Then attach the hook fasteners to the loop. However, for the side rugs, ensure that the long hook fasteners are placed at the locator marks. Remove the protective liners for the hook fasteners in order to expose the adhesive. Lay your bed rug down. Then firmly rub the fasteners down to ensure that the fasteners stick.

11. It is important to ensure that the temperature of the truck bed surface is 68F or higher in order for all the fasteners to achieve maximum adhesion. Remember touching the adhesive with your fingers will contaminate it.

Repeat steps 8 and 9 on the bulkhead, tailgate, side rugs and opposite side of the bed rug.
