Going Sumo with SuperSprings
Springs often tend to fail because of fatigue. After numerous compression extension cycles, any coil spring may experience this since the metal they are formed from can only maintain a certain level of elasticity before breaking down. Sometimes it is not the spring action that wears it down but corrosion effects. As the steel used on the springs gets continually exposed to moisture, it will gradually rust from the surface moving inwards and lose its functional properties.
To avoid the after effects of this, which include car suspension collapse, you need to replace the springs with something more durable.
SuperSprings
might just be the kind of springs you should consider.
How SuperSprings work
These springs are designed to act in parallel with existing stock springs and thus come into play when additional weight is added to the vehicle or extra extension levels are exerted in them.
The result is a 29 percent improvement on the spring action thus massively extending your truck’s spring life. It reduces the level of slag and sway that come from grinding through off road paths. Let’s take a closer look at what innovative methods SuperSprings uses to convert ordinary spring action into superb performance.
SumoSprings
Just like their name suggests, SumoSprings are heavy duty springs that can take compression's of up to 80 percent from the original height they had and extend likewise. They are the first airless puncture proof springs that thus work their suspension without leaking air. SumoSprings have even been recognized as the new face of heavy duty spring innovation at the 2009 SEMA motor show.
They are thus ideal for us on trucks that make the most perilous voyages in outback terrains. They are made of closed cell micro-cellular urethane which explains their damage resistant, puncture proof properties. With the exceptional engineering methods that SumoSprings are made with, they have minimal traverse expansion and thus will not puff out as they are compressed.
Moreover, they have an amazing low temperature flexibility which makes them capable of producing the same kind of action even when winter kicks in.
Coil SumoSprings
Coil SumoSprings are a set of closed cell micro-cellular urethane padding's that are fit into the turns of your coil springs. They are thus designed to create enhanced front suspension when you are fitting heavy cargo such as snow plows, winch or a replacement bumper onto the truck. We all know how useful such a solution can be for the working truck driver. In such situations you cannot fully trust that your stock coil springs to survive the weight exerted by these objects without losing some amount of tautness.
