The Mud-Terrain T/A KM ("KM" stands for Key benefit Mud traction) is BFGoodrich's Off-Road Maximum Traction light truck radial designed for pickup and sport utility vehicle driving enthusiasts looking for race-proven, off-road performance. The Mud-Terrain T/A KM is designed to deliver aggressive good looks along with serious off-road traction and steering control on slick surfaces, as well as in deep dirt and mud.

The Mud-Terrain T/A KM features an advanced tread compound molded into a symmetric tread pattern comprised of large interlocking center tread blocks and alternating width "DiggerLugz" that extend over the tire's shoulders to provide the clawing necessary to dig down, as well as work against the sides of muddy ruts for added pulling power. The computer-optimized, high-void tread design generates less noise than BFGoodrich's original Radial Mud-Terrain T/A, and provides a larger and more rectangular footprint to further enhance rock climbing and slick surface traction. The Mud-Terrain T/A KM tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts on top of BFGoodrich's TriGard (3-ply polyester cord sidewall plies) construction for strength and durability. Single strand beads (a single strand of bead wire is continuously wrapped multiple times until the desired strength is provided) enhance the tire's fit to the wheel to improve uniformity and ride quality, while rim protectors molded into the lower sidewall help shelter the tire and wheel from off-road hazards, especially during aired down situations.
